  • Solar PV Feed In Tariff

The Government has now finalised rates for the solar PV ‘Feed In Tariffs’ (for PV systems under 5mw).

Small scale PV production in the home will now be paid for everything a system generates (as well as what the household uses).

The rates for solar PV Feed In Tariffs are as follows:

The Feed In Tariffs generates income in 3 ways:

    1)      You will save on your electricity bill as you import less from the grid (which can be upto £400 a year!) for producing your own electricity from your roof.

    2)      The government feed in tariff pays you for every unit of electricity generated from your solar PV system. This is logged on a meter installed by us and the rate for each unit is 21p a kwh (unit).

    3)      Your supplier pays an export tariff of 3p per unit for electricity which is not used in the home. This can be measured on an export meter installed by your supplier or they work on the basis that 50% is exported. Therefore, for 50% of your generation you get an extra 3p a unit!
